Brazil APS Benchmark
BANKING & FINTECH USER SATISFACTION BENCHMARK SCORE (APS)
The APS Score benchmark sets the bar for an app to stand out from its competitors, based on qualitative user satisfaction surveys.Market Leaders
Mercado Pago: Banco Digital led the survey with 83.9, followed by Banco PicPay: Cartão at 83.0. Banco PagBank: Conta placed third, matching the score benchmark above. All three earned High-Performer status, the category associated with very high satisfaction and trust.
The narrow gap between the leaders makes execution especially relevant. In the leading app’s qualitative survey feedback, respondents valued quick transfers, straightforward navigation, convenient bill payments and easy-to-understand savings returns. Others described missing transaction details, slow balance updates, login problems and unexpected credit changes. These comments identify opportunities for improvement; they do not establish how common each issue is across Brazil’s market.
Market Overview
Brazil’s digital finance experience has a split personality: strong enthusiasm alongside substantial frustration. The October 2026 banking and fintech app survey, the APS from Cassuarina Labs, analyzed 10,000 valid responses across 20 apps. The country’s average score reached 56 out of 100, leaving considerable room to improve everyday usability.
Across the aggregate responses, 65.8% selected “Love It,” while 21.0% were “Frustrated” and 4.2% were “Very disappointed.” The remaining 9.0% fell between “Disappointed” and “Like It.” Survey results show that enthusiastic adoption can coexist with difficult experiences. For product teams, the challenge is making essential tasks consistently work across the full user base.
The supplied benchmarks set a more demanding target for competitive performance: a score of 81.2, Fans at 86% and Critics at 9%. These provide three complementary goals: lift overall satisfaction, build a stronger base of enthusiastic users and contain negative experiences. Beating the country average is only the starting point.
Key Lessons
Protect the payment moment. Keep transfers and card payments fast, confirm outcomes immediately and alert users when scheduled payments fail.
Put financial clarity before promotions. Make live balances, itemized statements and transaction history easy to find.
Explain credit decisions. Communicate limit changes promptly and make eligibility criteria understandable.
Build recovery into the experience. Give users clear next steps when identity checks, security blocks or connection failures interrupt access.
Make everyday value visible. Help users understand savings returns and track spending without extra steps or support requests.
