Peru APS Benchmark
BANKING & FINTECH USER SATISFACTION BENCHMARK SCORE (APS)
The APS Score benchmark sets the bar for an app to stand out from its competitors, based on qualitative user satisfaction surveys.Market Leaders
CRÉDITONIDO: CRÉDITO SEGURO led the ranking with an APS score of 86.1, followed by CAJA AREQUIPA MÓVIL at 83.2. Both entered the High-Performer Zone, associated with very high satisfaction and trust. NUBECREDITO – PRÉSTAMOS YA placed third in the Strong Zone, reflecting high satisfaction and engagement, with its score matching the competitive benchmark above.
The leading group spans lending and savings-bank propositions, suggesting that different financial services can deliver compelling mobile experiences. The ranking identifies where user satisfaction is strongest; it does not, on its own, establish which features caused that performance.
Market Overview
Peru’s digital finance experience combines strong enthusiasm with persistent friction. The October 2026 banking and fintech app survey, APS from Cassuarina Labs, analyzed more than 9648 valid responses across 20 apps. The country’s average score reached 50 out of 100, placing it in the Moderate Zone: an experience that is broadly functional but not consistently distinctive.
Survey results show that 59.4% of users’ qualitative feedback fell within the “Love It” category, corresponding to scores of 81–100. At the other end, 26.3% fell within “Frustrated,” scoring 0–20, and 3.3% within “Very disappointed,” scoring 21–40. The remaining 11.0% spanned intermediate levels, from disappointment to liking an app without loving it. These aggregate results across the apps analyzed reveal a divided experience: strong positive sentiment coexists with a substantial group whose basic expectations remain unmet.
The survey’s competitive benchmarks set a more demanding target than the country average: an APS score of 79.8, FANS of 81%, and CRITICS of 8%. Product teams should treat these as a combined ambition—reach or exceed the satisfaction and advocacy benchmarks while keeping criticism at or below the reference level. Building enthusiasm and reducing friction require equal attention.
Key Lessons
Make access a release gate. Test login, keyboard responsiveness, and core transactions across devices before shipping updates.
Design for urgent moments. Keep essential payments and savings accessible overnight, with clear recovery paths during interruptions.
Make money movements visible. Refresh balances promptly and provide dependable notifications and shareable transaction receipts.
Remove authentication dead ends. Give users workable alternatives when facial recognition, tokens, or device changes block access.
Measure completed tasks. Optimize for successful transfers and payments, preserving the speed and simplicity users value.
