BANKING & FINTECH USER SATISFACTION BENCHMARK SCORE (APS)

The APS Score benchmark sets the bar for an app to stand out from its competitors, based on qualitative user satisfaction surveys.

Market Leaders

RING BY KISSHT: PERSONAL LOAN leads with 88.7, followed by KISSHT: INSTANT PERSONAL LOANS at 86.9 and KREDITBEE: PERSONAL LOANS at 81.9. All three occupy the High-Performer Zone, indicating very high satisfaction and trust within the survey framework.

Personal lending apps therefore take all three leading positions in this surveyed group. Their placement makes the category a useful reference for studying customer experience, although the scores alone do not establish which features drive satisfaction.

Market Overview

India’s banking and fintech app survey reveals strong enthusiasm alongside a meaningful pocket of dissatisfaction. The APS from Cassuarina Labs analyzed 10.000+ valid responses across 20 apps, recording an average score of 64 out of 100. This places the surveyed apps collectively in the Solid Zone, associated with good reliability, user trust and mostly positive sentiment.

Survey results show that 71.1% of respondents fall within “Love It” (81–100), while 17.3% are “Frustrated” (0–20) and 2.1% are “Very disappointed” (21–40). The remaining 9.5% span “Disappointed” and “Like It” (41–80). The product challenge is clear: widespread enthusiasm can coexist with severe friction. Teams need to understand where experiences break down, even when positive sentiment dominates.

For teams targeting the survey’s stronger-performance benchmarks, the reference points are a score of 81.9, a FANS% metric of 89% and a CRITICS% metric of 9%. These are competitive targets, rather than country averages: improving overall satisfaction should go hand in hand with building advocacy and reducing negative experiences.

Key Lessons

  • Make core tasks effortless. Cut loading times and unnecessary steps in payments, balance checks and account setup.

  • Build a clear route to human support. Let respondents’ unresolved issues escape chatbot loops and reach accountable teams.

  • Make costs visible upfront. Explain fees, renewal terms and service limits before users commit.

  • Protect users at confirmation. Clearly display the selected recipient, account and amount before processing a transaction.

  • Keep users in control. Make cancellation, refunds and autopay changes as accessible as activation.
