The lesson: a useful payment feature creates value only when people can find it at the moment they need it.
A card payment should be the end of a task. For one Amex Australia respondent, the frustrating part was what came next: waiting for the payment to appear in the account. They described “the frustration of having to wait 72 hours before funds are received into my account.”
The respondent’s experience changed when they found they could pay using PayID. Their requirement was simple: a way to pay the card balance without the same sense of delay. The survey comment does not establish how quickly every PayID payment is credited, but it does show that discovering the option resolved this respondent’s frustration.
The product lesson: a useful payment feature creates value only when people can find it at the moment they need it. For financial apps, making the payment path clear can matter as much to the experience as adding another feature.
