MARKET LEADERS
REMITLY: SEND MONEY & TRANSFER led the surveyed apps with an APS score of 79.6, earning a Strong rating. WIEBETAALTWAT - SPLITSER followed at 75.4, also rated Strong. OCKTO ranked third with a Solid rating, matching the benchmark outlined above.
The leaders establish a practical point of comparison for the rest of the surveyed market. Their relative positions show that stronger satisfaction is achievable, although the aggregate figures do not establish which features or product decisions explain the gap. The next step for competing teams is to investigate the qualitative feedback behind their own scores and identify where user experiences diverge.

MARKET OVERVIEW
The October 2026 Netherlands banking and fintech app satisfaction survey covered 20 apps and analyzed more than 10.000 valid responses. The survey used APS from Cassuarina Labs—App Pulse Score© (APS), a user-satisfaction metric that converts qualitative survey feedback into an index of how people perceive their apps.
The average APS score across the evaluated apps was 41, placing the surveyed market in the Developing performance level. This indicates mixed performance and an inconsistent user experience. For product teams, the implication is clear: delivering value to some users does not necessarily translate into satisfaction across the wider user base.
Based on respondents’ comments and qualitative feedback, the average satisfaction distribution across the surveyed apps placed 45.7% in “Love It” (81–100), 7.3% in “Very disappointed” (21–40), and 28.4% in “Frustrated” (0–20). These are aggregate survey indicators across the evaluated apps, rather than measures of every Dutch banking or fintech customer. The results reveal a divided experience: substantial enthusiasm coexists with a sizeable concentration of frustration.
The performance spread reinforces that divide. Two apps reached Strong, four were Solid, two were Developing, four were Underperforming, five were Vulnerable, and three were Severely vulnerable. The concentration in the lower tiers suggests that competitive differentiation depends on making satisfactory experiences more consistent, rather than relying on isolated pockets of approval.
For comparison beyond the country average, the survey sets an APS benchmark of 66.2, alongside a Fans% target of at least 57% and a Critics% ceiling of 9%. These provide a more demanding reference for app performance: strengthen positive sentiment while keeping negative experiences contained. Exceeding a modest market average alone should not be mistaken for delivering a consistently strong product.
