Leadership still leaves room for improvement. Feedback supplied for the top-ranked app included conflicting experiences with redesigns, account access, statement availability and support. Some respondents welcomed the updated interface; others reported difficulty locating familiar functions. The product lesson is that simplicity must survive updates, exceptions and recovery journeys—not just work during routine use.

MARKET OVERVIEW
The October 2026 United Kingdom banking and fintech app satisfaction survey analysed qualitative user feedback across 20 apps. Using APS from Cassuarina Labs, the study recorded an average App Pulse Score© (APS) of 50 out of 100, placing the surveyed market in the Moderate Zone: stable, but without a consistently distinctive experience.
The averages across surveyed apps reveal a divided experience. “Love It” accounted for 59.8%, while 24.8% were “Frustrated” and 4.6% were “Very disappointed.” The remaining 10.9% covered “Like It” and “Disappointed”.
That distribution matters more than the moderate headline alone suggests. Strong enthusiasm coexists with substantial frustration; the country average should not be read as widespread indifference. For product teams, the opportunity is to preserve what satisfied users value while identifying the journeys that leave others unable to complete essential tasks.
The survey’s competitive benchmarks set a more demanding target: an APS score of 71.6, Fans% of at least 77%, and Critics% of no more than 13%. These are reference points for stronger performance. Together, they encourage teams to measure both positive attachment and the extent of negative experiences.
